Our Story

Sola Unitas is an organization that focuses on coaching services and coaching training and aims to create value for all stakeholders it serves. Its vision is a world where people do not judge themselves and others, where everyone is loved and recognized for who they are. Sola Unitas started in 2009 with a dream shared by Umut Kısa and Şirin Aydıner. Today, we are very happy to share our short but proud story with you.

As two partners working as managers and consultants in corporate companies since the late 90s, we had an observation. People with higher consciousness judged each other less and were happier. Higher learning and higher performance were just the common result of their happiness levels. Helping people learn and raise their consciousness levels to achieve their dreams is a powerful dream we can have and carry. We know we will always hold this dream in our hearts.

Of course, nothing was as easy as it sounds. First we had to go through intense training processes. We knew very well that we needed to strengthen our faith and continuously improve in order to be on the journey of our dream. More importantly, we were aware that people can become stakeholders not by looking at the services sold, but by looking at what these services aim to achieve and whether they believe in this aim.

At the end of 2009, we created the Sola Unitas brand, which means “One Unity” in Latin. In 2010-2011, we had the opportunity to work with hundreds of people who believed in the purpose of our services. The fact that the concept of coaching has only existed in Turkey for a few years required us to focus more on promotional activities and to tell people more about what coaching really is. And today we are confident that we have contributed to making coaching much more recognizable.

In 2011, we added the Nine Coaching Masteries license of the International Association of Coaching to our training programs and showed that we are also in the international arena. We knew that the walls we rely on and the ground under our feet must be strong. In 2011, we added special programs such as NLP Training and Inherited Family Traumas Workshop to our training programs.

Since we know that development and growth can only happen with those who believe in the same vision, in 2011, we launched the “Path to Great Leadership” trainings in English, approved by the International Coach Federation, with our Singaporean partner Koh Kok Tiong Ben (Success Motivation) to increase know-how. Moreover, 50% of our first graduates received the ICF title in a short period of time, far exceeding the industry standards.

In 2011, we were selected by the public to take part in the “Women Empowerment Project” in Yalova Province with the support of the Eastern Marmara Development Project. It was a great honor for us to take part in such a project.

In 2012 alone, our staff reached 12 people with outsourcing and this strong staff broke a record in this field by reaching a total of 700 participants, approximately 400 individual and 300 corporate.

In 2012, Umut Kısa was ranked among the best coaches in Turkey in “Para” magazine and was invited to many magazines, newspapers and television programs.

In 2013, we launched the Izotomi project to support the dreams of young people.

In early 2013, ICF (International Coaching Federation) approved Sola Unitas “Path to Core Coaching Skills” program in Turkish. The fact that there are very few Turkish trainings in the ICF field made us proud of this program and motivated us to do much more.

In 2013, we started to organize trainings in niche coaching areas such as Executive and Team Coaching, Relationship Coaching and Student Coaching.

In 2013, we reached 32.000 followers on Facebook and 5000 followers on Twitter. We broke sharing records in our field both on the internet and social media. Due to the number of visitors and quality of our website, we ranked first in many areas related to coaching on Google.

In 2013, we made a partnership agreement with TME College, one of the best universities in Australia, and started the “Human Resources Certificate Program” in Turkey. We had to work very hard to bring the successful examples of Anglo Saxons to our country and we had to have long meetings some nights due to time differences.

In 2014, we started to provide ESaC (Emotional Skills and Competencies) and ETaC (Evaluating Truthfulness and Credibility) trainings with Paul Ekman, who Times magazine named one of the 100 most influential people of the century. Paul Ekman chose Sola Unitas Academy as his International LDC (Licence Delivery Center) in Turkey.

In 2014, for the first time, ICF granted the ACTP authorization to a Turkish company to obtain the ACC and PCC titles. This was one of the highest points of development for us.

In 2015, we received the OHSAS 18001 certificate for Occupational and Worker Safety in order to ensure the safety of both our staff and participants. We became the main sponsor of Yedikule Sports Club in order to support its youth.

In 2015, we founded Sola Publications, which will walk a principled line in the fields of Philosophy, Psychology, Development and Literature, and in 2016 we became one of the sponsors of the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world.

In the same year, our training center became a course approved by the Ministry of National Education.

In 2018, we became Turkey’s best-selling publishing house in the field of Psychology. The number of works in our portfolio reached 150, including 90 translated works.

In 2018, we founded kitapkoala.com to finance an ambulance and support system for stray animals. We wanted to support stray animals through book sales.

In 2019, we started the Isotomy Neuro Development Areas study and completed it in 2022.

In 2020, we started to rank high in publishing.

In 2022, our book “It Didn’t Start with You” became the best-selling book in Turkey.

By 2023, we completed the publication of more than 800 works and became one of the few publishers with the highest number of works.

As of 2024, we started our individual and corporate trainings in Baku, Azerbaijan.

When we look back at our story, Martin Luther King’s beautiful words come to mind.

“If you can’t fly, run, if you can’t run, walk, if you can’t walk, crawl, but whatever you do, keep going. Never give up and always ask.”

As of today, we have offices in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir where we organize our trainings and we have two wonderful dogs. So we are on the road to our dreams and we love what we do.

The people who have not left us alone on this dream journey, who believe in our vision and with whom we work together in this strong team; Ece Erkal, Elif Yılmaz, Murat Erdoğan, Erdem Demirci, Hüseyin Sönmez, Ayça Kabaş, Ayşen Aygen, Mustafa Kemal Gültekin, Aslı Aydemir, Tülin Danışman, Nihal Saykal, Fügen Albayrak, Banu Koç Çakan, Cem Atat, Begüm Karaçe, Banu Musul Bayraktar, Cem Korkut, Didem Türksoy, Gülbin Gürdal, Zeynep Sarıozkan, Özlem Yildız Kılıçarslan, Betigul Ceylan, Murat Bozkurt, Şebnem Daloğlu, Didem Ulger, Anil Yasankulu, Meltem Akgün, Hikmet Yıldız, Yunus Emre Şenturk, Ceren Yalın, Burcu Yüksel, Yeşim Erberksoy, Hande Tulunay, Tuğba Asmazoğlu, Özlem Kolancı, Sibel Deniz, Achilles Valentin, Bülent Babaoğlu, Sibel Kaya, Buket Konur, Irmak Uzun, Tansel Mumcu, Hale Özdemir, Eda Yorulmaz, Selinay Ünlüdoğan Şahin, Serkan Ecevit, We would like to sincerely thank Destech Employees, Smart Office Employees, Sister Rabia and Sister Çiçek, our Building Attendant Hasan Abi, and all our stakeholders who benefit from our training and coaching services, in other words, our family.

ICF mentioned in one of its studies that the return on investment of coaching is about 7 times. We have also received and continue to receive coaching from various coaches on this journey. Do you think all this can be measured?

Leaving aside measuring, we are actually just continuing to write our own story. It is exciting to see that we are able to coach ourselves without coaching or teaching coaching to others.

– We know we will continue to grow and walk towards our dream,

– We know we will be with stakeholders who are committed to believing what we believe and making the world a happier place,

– And we know that one day we as human beings will cease to exist, but Sola Unitas will continue to live its vision in a sustainable way forever.

Would you like to write your own story and be the hero of it?

So do you want to be with us?
